- study of TTTS procedure – participation to interventions in hospital – discussion on state-of-the-art, discussion on surgical needs and challenges.
- evaluation of types of instruments, instrument shape, instrument motion.
- acquainted to OR layout, composition of OR team and position in OR.
- Discussion with Prof. Deprest,main problems, reason for premature delivery, stress at body wall, structure of patient wall.
- investigation of instruments – instrument types – characteristics – looked into possibility of building testbed to automatically evaluate instrument specifications (related to image quality).
2 – Technical Part
- First draft of requirements of single arm bending instrument.
- Data gathering in hospital, use of Nucleus system – visit to eSaturnus – discussion on synchronisation of data with Nucleus
- Discussion with IT people from hospital for status and use of Nucleus.
- Design of testbed with actuation to replicate breathing.
- Design of force sensitive plate, first concepts, FEM simulation.
- Intra-operative measurement of scope position, checking of EM-tracking solution, first concepts for Storz-dedicated connectors.
