slicseg_2Congratulations to Guotai Wang who has been awarded the annual PhD Prize from the UCL Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering for his paper on segmentation of the placenta from fetal MRI. The prize is awarded to students from the department who have published an academic paper during the previous academic year. Guotai won the prize with a fierce competition of 11 submissions which was the highest number the department has received to date.

The paper which Guotai won with was titled Slic-Seg: A Minimally Interactive Segmentation of the Placenta from Sparse and Motion-Corrupted Fetal MRI in Multiple Views. Guotai is training for PhD under the UCL EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Medical Imaging.
