The International Fetal Medicine and Surgery Society (IFMSS) Annual Meeting and Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) World Congress where joined this year in Heronissos, Crete. This gave GIFT-Surg the perfect opportunity to present their vision for the future of surgical planning and fetal surgery to experts from around the globe.

Professor Sebastien Ourselin gave a keynote speech introducing the concept of surgical planning, using our teams work in the area of neurosurgery to illustrate the potential. He then presented GIFT-Surg’s vision of the future within fetal surgery.

Rosalind Pratt presented a Systematic Review of Fetal Image Reconstruction for Surgical Planning, demonstrating early evidence of benefit within the limited studies in the literature.

Hina Lad presented her work on developing the Fetal Surgical Theatre of the Future.

Feedback from the delegates was enthusiastic, with fetal surgeons excited to see how the technology develops.
